On the hard at La Grande Motte, Teoula has just had a facelift: overall service and antifouling. This Outremer 45 appears almost new. Not surprising; it came out of the nearby boatyard four years ago... But following the example of its sisters - Imagine, Nusa Dua, Kadavu, Kea, Iod’l, Essentiel or again Galop 1 – Teoula has already been around: a first Atlantic circuit before Hervé Leconte and his family embarked for the same adventure: 15,000 miles and two more Atlantic crossings, then a third family did the same trip... 40,000 miles on the log for this catamaran which is getting ready for a circuit of the ocean for the fourth time. "The Atlantic circuit really is the typical programme for this boat," explained Hervé, who has joined the team at Outremer Yachting. Why is it so successful? Without a doubt because the speed/comfort compromise is particularly attractive for long term voyagers. It must be acknowledged that the builder has made a name for itself brilliantly – its new boat: in 2000, the prototype, called 'Bagnoles de l’Orne' won the English Transat in its category – a merciless Atlantic crossing via the Azores, far from the comfort of the trade wind route.
